A 43-year-old Chula Vista man convicted of impersonating a police officer and other charges faces a 24-year prison sentence, officials said Thursday.
Kevin Alan Kenniston drove a black-and-white Ford Crown Victoria, equipped with a siren, public-address system and roof-mounted lights, to pull over motorists, according to testimony during a trial in San Diego County Superior Court.
In one case, Kenniston lectured a driver about safe driving, on another he demanded a driver show her driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance.
Kenniston also was convicted of violating a restraining order and assaulting an ex-girlfriend. His sentencing is set for Jan. 9.
