Growing unrest over coaching situation at Eagle Rock

There appears to be widespread unhappiness at Eagle Rock with the firing of football coach Jerry Chou, as well as other coaches, by the school’s principal, Salvador Velasco.

Velasco has allegedly told his remaining coaches not to speak to the media or speak negatively about him.

E-mails from teachers and alumni are flying back and forth, with everyone seeking explanations. On Friday, students held a morning protest, briefly walking out of classes. Velasco was supposed to talk with the students at noon in the school auditorium.

He has yet to explain, at least publicly, his reasons for the dismissals, but he needs to do something soon as the current uneasy situation is not going away on its own.
