UCLA Assistant Coach Wins Broadmoor Golf

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An assistant golf coach at UCLA won the 45th annual Broadmoor Ladies Invitational golf tournament 8 and 7 in the 36-hole final round of match play here Tuesday.
Cindy Scholefield, 25, of Malibu, beat Robin Weiss, 31, of Long Beach, Fla., over the par-73, 6,149-yard course.
Scholefield was one down after the 13th hole but took the 14th, 15th and 16th to go 2 up. Then Weiss won 17 and halved 18 to leave Scholefield 1 up after the morning round.
In afternoon play, Scholefield won six of the first nine holes to go 7 up, then won the par-4, 367-yard 29th hole with a birdie to take the match.
