Financially pressed Pan Am Corp. has reached a tentative contract agreement with leaders of the union representing its 4,500 flight attendants, officials of the airline and the union said. Details of the flight attendants’ contract, which must be ratified by the union’s membership in a vote expected by mid-November, were not disclosed. Pan Am said the contract provides for cost reductions similar to those agreed on earlier this year with the two unions representing pilots and flight engineers. Pan Am has been seeking around $90 million in wage reductions from its flight attendants.
