‘Make Schools Businesslike’

Let me see if I’ve got this straight. If I volunteer to teach a bilingual, Academic Decathlon team in a hard to staff school, I can raise my yearly teaching salary by $10,000 and my blood pressure by probably as many points.

Before I reached the end of this fact-packed article, I knew it had to be written by the dean of a graduate school of education. Things sure look different from the top of the ivory tower looking down than they do from the classroom looking up.
