Burbank Route Not Favored by All

Your article entitled “New Schedule Pushes Back Valley Subway Completion to 2020” said that “most Valley elected officials and homeowner and business leaders continue to support the commission-approved plan for a 5.6-mile Metro Rail extension westward from North Hollywood along the Southern Pacific railroad’s Burbank branch freight line.”
I would like to point out that there was a non-binding advisory vote by the public on Nov. 5, 1990, on Valley Metro Rail routes.
One of the least-favored routes was the Burbank branch route. The most popular route in the advisory election was the Ventura Freeway route. You seem to have been blindsided as to the popularity of a route by politicians and special interest groups.
