The Sheepfold, a shelter program for homeless women and children, is planning to open a thrift store Sept. 3 in Orange.
Sheepfold, a Tustin-based nonprofit organization with shelters in Brea, Tustin and Garden Grove, has raised funds in the past through private and corporate donations.
“This is something new for us,” said Joni Ginsburg, manager of the thrift store to be opened at 1330 N. Glassell St.
Sheepfold is seeking donations of clean and working items to be sold at the thrift store. Proceeds will benefit a shelter that cares for women and children, many of whom come from abusive situations.
“We’re also trying to raise money to buy a 16-room hotel for emergency care,” Ginsburg said.
