Rockaby, Baby, the Old Way
It’s been known for years that nothing is better for soothing a baby than the gentle rocking motion of a cradle. So if there’s a baby in your future, now is the time to build this handsome heirloom. The warm, lasting beauty of wood and the nostalgic style make this project one to pass down from generation to generation.
The cradle measures 38 inches long by 18 wide. The model illustrated is made from pine but any suitable wood may be used. Full-size traceable parts are included in the pattern to avoid difficulty in creating the cradle end posts, stretcher, brackets and base. The spindle sides provide free circulation of air around the baby and can be purchased ready made. Step-by-step instructions, photographs, a complete materials list and a diagram remove all the guesswork.
