Southern Methodist University athletes who abused a voucher system to purchase textbooks must make restitution to the university, according to school officials.
The university notified the NCAA of the reported abuse of privileges at the campus bookstore. The school said the NCAA did not anticipate taking action.
The university said it learned in April that some students on athletic scholarship were charging extra books, letting the school pay for them and then pocketing profits after resale.
