Re Robert Hilburn’s “Sonic Intensity From Dinosaur Jr.” (May 3). I didn’t see many people captivated by Dinosaur Jr. I saw them wandering out of Santa Monica Civic Auditorium holding their ears.
It doesn’t take any great skill or artistry to play too loud. I wasn’t “liberated” by the “torrents of sound.” I was kind of annoyed and a little bit bored by a massive display of adolescent rebellion.
