General Motors Corp. Consolidates Media Buying: In a cost-cutting measure, the auto maker said it will consolidate all of nearly $1 billion in media buying at two agencies under the Interpublic Group umbrella, which consists of Lintas: Worldwide for broadcast advertising and McCann Erickson for print ads. The two agencies had been sharing the media buying business with Leo Burnett and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles. Other auto makers, including several Asian importers, have also begun to consolidate.
