Man Held in Woman’s Shooting Death

ANAHEIM — Police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman Sunday at a house in the 600 block of South Emily Street.
Police said the shooting occurred about 3:40 p.m. When paramedics arrived, they found the victim lying on the front porch. Witnesses told police they saw a man leaving the area with a rifle.
Patrol officers checking the area found Robert Edroy Thompson, 26, hiding in a nearby alley, police said. He was taken into custody and booked on suspicion of murder late Sunday night. He was being held on $250,000 bail.
Police said Thompson is a nephew of the owner of the house where the victim was found.
Police withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of her family.
