HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Harvard-Westlake Saves Offense for Overtime

David Tuizer scored his 12th goal as Harvard-Westlake scored five goals in overtime to defeat Chaminade, 6-1, Wednesday in a Mission League match.
Per league rules, two 10-minute overtimes were played, with Ted Macker and Ari Friedman each scoring twice and Jason Morrow once for Harvard-Westlake (12-10-2, 4-8).
Loyola 5, Notre Dame 2--Danny Dongo scored twice and Juan Plascencia made seven saves, but the Knights (12-6-1, 8-2-1) lost to the Cubs (18-4, 9-2) in a Mission League match.
Both have clinched Southern Section playoff berths.
Royal 1, Newbury Park 0--Tim Pederson scored his 12th goal to give Royal (18-4-2, 9-1) a victory over the Panthers (9-8-2, 5-4-1) in the semifinals of the Marmonte League tournament.
The Highlanders play Simi Valley for the title Friday.
St. Francis 2, Crespi 0--Eric Johnson scored his 12th goal and Pete Vagenas added his sixth in the Golden Knights’ Mission League victory over the Celts.
Burroughs 2, Saugus 1--Burroughs (14-3-6, 7-0-4) clinched its fourth consecutive Foothill League title behind goals by Gabriel Santana and Jon Virtue.
Nate Wright scored for Saugus (15-4-1, 7-3-1).
Birmingham 3, Kennedy 2--Jaime Tinajero scored on two second-half penalty kicks and Edwin Esperanza also scored as the Braves (11-4-4, 8-3-2) beat the Golden Cougars (9-7-2, 6-6) in a Northwest Valley Conference match.
San Fernando 5, Granada Hills 1--Juan Luis Artche had two goals and Sam Nava, Ruben Saenz and Carlos Rodriguez each scored for the Tigers (7-3-2) in a Northwest Valley match at Granada Hills (6-10-1, 2-8-1).
GIRLS
Westlake 6, Agoura 1--The Warriors (17-2-2, 9-1-1) advanced to the championship game of the Marmonte League tournament with a victory over the Chargers. Erica Bodigheimer had three goals and Sarah Aberle added two.
Simi Valley 6, Thousand Oaks 0--Anna Wolleck scored three goals in the first half as the Pioneers (20-3-2, 10-1) beat the Lancers in a second-round Marmonte League tournament match.
Monica Gerardo also had two goals for Simi Valley.
Harvard-Westlake 3, Chaminade 2--Jessica Post, Stacy Schwartz and Susan Baise scored as the Wolverines (15-6-1, 6-2-1) beat the Eagles (16-4-2, 7-1) in a Mission League match, ending Chaminade’s nine-match winning streak.
La Reina 5, Oak Park 1-- Jennifer Baltruzak, Alicia Bueschen, Samantha Conroy, Tara Lyerly and Aimee Thompson scored for the Regents (16-2-1, 8-0) in a Tri-Valley match.
Notre Dame 9, St. Bernard’s 0--Sarah Morgan scored three goals and Melissa Rubey and Kalli Fernandez each had two for the Knights (17-5, 6-3) in a nonleague match. Notre Dame did not allow a shot on goal.
Newbury Park 4, Channel Islands 0--Panther forwards Crissy Sanford and Danielle McCain scored two goals each to lift Newbury Park (10-6-2) to a Marmonte League victory at Channel Islands.
