Police were investigating on Saturday the shooting of two Oxnard men during a dispute over the theft of an undetermined amount of beer.
Daniel Magana, 22, and Victor Magana, 19, whom police believe are brothers, were both listed in fair condition at local hospitals Saturday. Daniel was shot once in the chest late Friday night, while Victor had gunshot wounds in his abdomen and upper right thigh.
The two men were in their home on El Dorado Avenue when a neighbor told them that some of their beer had been stolen by another group of men. They walked over to another neighbor’s house to confront the thieves, authorities said. Police believe they were shot by the same group of men who took the beer.
Oxnard Police Sgt. Fred Berry said no arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
