Early Touchdowns Boost Newport Harbor

NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor scored 29 points in the first quarter en route to a 43-0 victory over Torrance in a nonleague football game Thursday night at Newport Harbor High.
Ray Ohrel led the Sailors’ offense, rushing 13 times for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
Newport Harbor’s defense did its part by intercepting four passes.
Wide receiver Danny Pulido and quarterback Josiah Fredriksen teamed up for the first two scores for Newport Harbor (3-0). The first touchdown covered 33 yards and the other 25.
Ohrel then capped first-quarter scoring with touchdown bursts of 50 and 29 yards. Ohrel added touchdown runs of nine and 11 yards in the second and third quarters.
Fredriksen completed four of 11 passes for 96 yards and Pulido caught four for 96 yards.
