Anaheim Stadium Seats Will Be Sold

Baseball fans who collect trading cards and other memorabilia will soon be able to add a less common item to their inventory: stadium seats. The city plans to sell as many as 50,000 seats from Anaheim Stadium over the next two years.
The seats are being removed as part of the stadium’s $100-million make-over into a 45,000-seat baseball park. Renovation of the stadium by Disney Sports Enterprises is expected to begin next month.
Most of the seats will be sold to high schools and colleges for their sports facilities, but some will be available to individuals, said Greg Smith, the city’s stadium and convention center general manager.
“It’s just like collecting anything else, particularly for season-ticket holders,” he said. “They especially have an interest in having a few seats for nostalgia.”
Smith said prices are expected to range from $10 to $25 a seat. Proceeds from the sales will go into the city’s general operating fund.
