Homeless

We read Feb. 15 about the Rev. Wiley S. Drake, who was charged with nine misdemeanor counts of sheltering homeless people in his church. The neighbors had complained about transients roaming through the neighborhood. It seems that in this Buena Park neighborhood religion is OK as long as suffering people are only given prayers, but, heaven forbid, nothing meaningful is actually done for them.
Maybe that neighborhood should build a multimillion-dollar cathedral and drop all pretense of helping anyone. Congratulations to Drake for operating on a shoestring budget and helping the underprivileged just as the ancient prophets before him did.
