One of baseball’s top orthopedic surgeons was expected to examine Greg Vaughn’s right shoulder Tuesday to dispel any thoughts that the San Diego outfielder is “damaged goods.”
Vaughn was scheduled to see Dr. Lewis Yocum, the Angels’ team physician, according to Eric Goldschmidt, Vaughn’s agent.
Saturday, the New York Yankees voided a six-player trade with the Padres that featured Vaughn for pitcher Kenny Rogers and infielder Mariano Duncan.
