College Gets 3 Grants to Fund Projects

Ventura College was awarded three grants this week from the California Community Colleges chancellor’s office--bringing the total awards received for this fiscal year to $982,741.
The three grants totaled $79,935.
A grant of $53,192 was awarded to the college’s Access and Outreach Institutionalization Project, which will provide computers to disabled students.
For the physics department, a grant of $14,523 has been awarded to the Curriculum Development for Vocational Physics Course, which will help develop integrated academic and vocational curricula.
Another $12,220 was awarded to the same department for its Advanced Computer Problems for Engineering Physics Project, which will be used to teach students systematic approaches to problem solving.
