In reference to Yasser Arafat, Menachem Z. Rosensaft (Commentary, Oct. 12) remarked that “the rejectionists of yesterday have become today’s pragmatic peacemakers.” The real rejectionists, however, are the U.S. and Israel, for denying Palestinians the right to self-determination. They have opposed the concept of an autonomous Palestinian state, despite the fact that U.N. Resolution 242 called for a two-state settlement.
