Vasquez 32, Bell-Jeff 13--Kenny Johnson rushed for two touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass and intercepted a pass for the Mustangs in a victory at Burroughs High.
Johnson scored on a 21-yard run midway through the first quarter after teammate Brandon Bolin recovered a fumble.
Johnson scored on a 29-yard run midway through the third quarter, and caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from James Matthews four minutes later to give Vasquez a 26-13 lead. Matthews completed three of six passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns, including a 26-yard strike to Jarod O’Reilly in the fourth quarter.
Richard Tobias of Bell-Jeff (0-2) had 84 yards in 32 carries and caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Tim Cournier.
