The USA Baseball Junior National Team was defeated for the first time in the 1999 Junior Pan Am Games, losing Friday to Panama, 8-4, in a semifinal game at Universitario Stadium in Caracas, Venezuela.
The loss puts Team USA into the bronze-medal game today against either Cuba or Venezuela. Team USA has already qualified for the 1999 IBA World Championships Aug. 6-15 in Taiwan by finishing in the top four of this tournament.
