Parents and community members looking for holiday gifts are invited to the 17th annual rummage sale at Elmhurst Elementary School today.
The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the cafeteria at the school, 5080 Elmhurst St.
Proceeds will support Ventura students with serious learning disabilities. There are 36 children at Elmhurst, De Anza Middle School and Balboa Middle School who are classified as severely learning impaired and who receive services through Ventura Unified School District. The money will help pay for specialized equipment and field trips.
The sale is organized by Gill Surmont, who has taught Ventura’s special education students for nearly three decades.
