MORAGA, Calif. — The lottery ticket that will make someone $89 million richer was bought at a 7-Eleven store here.
The winner, whose name has not been made public, has elected to take the one-time cash payout option, lottery officials said Sunday.
“I knew one of these days I’d sell a winning ticket,” said store owner Samir Saleh.
He said his previous biggest ticket sold was $29,000.
Saleh did not know who bought the ticket. He sold about 7,000 “SuperLotto Plus” tickets on Saturday alone.
Saleh will receive a cut of the jackpot for being the lucky point of sale, though he doesn’t know what he will do with the windfall.
Moraga is a suburb east of San Francisco Bay.
