Victor Chosen Big Sky Coach of Year

Gary Victor of Cal State Northridge has been selected Big Sky Conference women’s tennis coach of the year after leading the Matadors to their first Big Sky title and first NCAA tournament berth.
Victor is 69-38 in four seasons at Northridge. The Matadors (22-8) play at Fresno State (20-4) in an NCAA regional Saturday.

Cal Lutheran is in 18th place after one day of competition in the NCAA Division III golf championships at Persimmon Woods Golf Course in Weldon Springs, Mo.
Brent Hendon is tied for 13th at one over par to lead five Kingsmen. Hendon leads Cal Lutheran this season with a 76.1 average.
Tyson Silva was tied for 46th at four over.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude Thursday.

Northridge hosts Loyola Marymount in a nonconference baseball game today at Matador Field.
Northridge (28-21, 6-9 in conference play), after dropping two of three games last weekend against Pacific, has slipped from title contention in the Big West Conference. The Matadors begin a three-game series at Cal State Sacramento on Friday.
Northridge shortstop J.T. Stotts ranks among the Big West’s leaders in several offensive categories. Stotts, a junior from Hart High, ranks third in batting average (.397), second in runs (56) and second in hits (81).
