A fire early Friday attributed to unattended candles at a Buena Park motel destroyed a room and injured an Orange County firefighter.
A captain with the Orange County Fire Authority was taken to West Anaheim Medical Center, where he was treated for a knee injury , said Capt. Stephen Miller, a Fire Authority spokesman.
Firefighters were summoned to the Colony Inn Motel in the 7800 block of Crescent Avenue about 5:50 a.m., Miller said. They found a room fully engulfed in flames from “mood” candles that had been left unattended. The fire caused about $30,000 in damage, Miller said.
