Rodriguez Tries to Corner Market on Winners

There are numerous contenders in tonight’s $27,550 Independence Day Handicap at 300 yards.
The field of 10 includes six horses who were winners last time out, including two trained by Santiago Rodriguez.
Metamorphosis, a 3-year-old Pritzi Dash gelding, earned his second lifetime victory for Rodriguez on June 19 and Schofield Kid was last seen winning for the seventh time last Sept. 20. Claimed that night by Rodriguez for $20,000 for owner Rodrigo Gonzalez, the 5-year-old gelding returns in a spot where he can’t be claimed.

Four! Use Highly Conceited and Splash For Glory in the first, Tip My Cap, Fairly Fasty and Doc A La Doc in the second, Bug N Memories, Sowing Oats and Riggsmarolle in the third and single Okbas Delight in the fourth.
Shots in the dark: Clovis Queen debuts for trainer Chris O’Dell in the sixth. The Money Train makes his local debut for trainer Adan Farias in the ninth.
