Abused Boy’s Death

Re “County Left Abused Boy in Home,” Sept. 23: The tragic death by abuse of 3-year-old Chazarus Hill Jr. haunts me. I cannot understand how the child’s great-grandmother and other family members stood by and let this happen. I also feel sorry for the neighbors, who continually reported this abuse to the authorities and were obviously ignored. Why wasn’t this child returned to his biological mother? It is horrible to think about how much that poor child suffered while family members did nothing.
