Oscar keeps his February slot

Oscar is sticking with his date.
The late-February date for the Academy Awards presentation, that is. Next year, the statuettes will be handed out Sunday, Feb. 27.
It’ll be the second year in a row the Oscar ceremony has been held in February. Last year, academy leadership decided to move up the event -- usually held in late March -- in an attempt to rejuvenate a show whose TV ratings slipped in recent years.
Some academy members complained about the earlier date, saying they had little time before their votes were due to watch films released at the end of the year.
