GAO Report Critical of Boeing Combat Systems

Boeing Co.’s Future Combat Systems family of Army ground combat systems intended to improve battlefield communications may cost more than planned and not meet requirements, the General Accounting Office said.
The report was released in conjunction with a House Armed Services subcommittee hearing. The hearing examined whether the Army, facing tighter budget restraints, was providing too much funding on the program at the expense of other needs.
Boeing did not comment.
Boeing’s shares fell 30 cents to $40.77 on the New York Stock Exchange.
