Eleven children were shaken up Wednesday morning when their Capistrano Unified School District bus was rear-ended at a stoplight, according to authorities.
The children were taken to area hospitals, examined and released.
California Highway Patrol spokesman Chris Goodwin said that the bus, with 58 children inside, was headed to Las Flores Middle School.
It was stopped at a light at Oso and Antonio parkways when it was hit.
Maribel Maushund of Coto de Caza was driving about 5 mph when she became “distracted” and struck the bus, Goodwin said.
Maushund, 44, was not cited, the officer said.
