Pentagon May Cancel Lockheed C-130J Plans

Lockheed Martin Corp.’s C-130J transport program will end after 2007 in large part because the aircraft has a track record of poor performance and reliability, the Pentagon’s former top tester said.
The cancellation was included in a Dec. 23 budget document signed by Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz. The proposed cancellation must still go through Congress, where there’s been opposition to ending the program.
