1 Worker Killed, 1 Hurt in Different Incidents

One longshoreman was killed and another injured in separate incidents Tuesday at the Port of Los Angeles, officials said.
Matt Petrasich, 63, of Rancho Palos Verdes was killed while supervising a crew unloading a container ship at the port’s Evergreen Terminal. A crane operator discovered Petrasich’s body on top of a cargo container. The cause of death was not released.
Crew foreman Cody Bates suffered leg injuries after being struck by a forklift at another terminal, officials said.
