Extensive laughter

It’s very rare that The Times makes me laugh, but Howard Leff’s article on the UCLA Extension and Learning Annex catalogs was hilarious (“Learning Curves,” Jan. 27).

I laughed out loud several times. He has a gift for writing and humor, a potent combination.

I call it UCLA Extortion, and the Annex course titles listed in the catalog are sometimes so funny that you wonder if they’re a joke. Leff hit it right on.
