4 Militants Killed in Shootout, Officials Say

Saudi security forces killed four militants in a shootout in a desert area northwest of the capital, Riyadh, the Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said the men belonged to the “deviant group,” the term the government uses for Al Qaeda, and had participated in car bombings and assassinations.
Officials said security forces opened fire on the men, who shot at them and refused to surrender. The men lobbed hand grenades at police while attempting to escape.
State television showed automatic weapons, ammunition, grenades, explosives and false license plates seized from the four in a tent in the desert.
