International Rectifier May Sell Division

International Rectifier Corp., a maker of semiconductors that manage power use, said it might sell its Non-Focus Products unit to concentrate on divisions that generate higher profit margins.

The El Segundo-based company may boost earnings faster by focusing on units that make semiconductors designed for specific products such as air conditioners and refrigerators, a spokesman said. He declined to say when the unit would be sold or for how much. Non-Focus Products accounted for 23% of the company’s revenue in the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31.
