Opinions about our 42nd president, Bill Clinton, vary wildly, but even the staunchest Kenneth W. Starr fan would grudgingly credit Clinton for his command of an audience. Sure, there’s his down-home accent, his gift for erudite explication, but more than anything, Clinton has panoramic vision. These days, most of his focus is on the William J. Clinton Presidential Foundation, established to strengthen the capacity of people in the U.S. and worldwide to meet the challenges of global interdependence. At his Music Center speech, expect to hear plenty about citizen service, the battle against HIV/AIDS and the economic empowerment of poor people.
Music Center Speaker Series presents William Jefferson Clinton, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 N. Grand Ave., L.A. 8 p.m. Wednesday and next Thursday. $50 to $200. (213) 480-3232.
