Center Theatre Group presents the national tour of Roundabout Theatre Company’s much-praised revival of “Twelve Angry Men,” directed by Scott Ellis with a cast headed by Richard Thomas and George Wendt. In Reginald Rose’s intense 1950s jury-room drama, 12 men wrestle with the guilt or innocence of a boy accused of killing his father. Tension rises and tempers boil when Juror 8 (Thomas) refuses to go along with the majority’s guilty verdict.
“Twelve Angry Men” opens at 8 tonight at the Ahmanson Theatre, 135 N. Grand Ave., L.A. $20 to $80. Runs 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, 7:30 p.m. Sundays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Exceptions: 2 and 8 p.m. on May 3, 2 p.m. only on May 6. Ends May 6. www.CenterTheatreGroup.org.
