Sleep lab technician faces sexual battery charges

A sleep lab technician at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital has been arrested on suspicion of the sexual battery of three male patients.
Lacanalale Amorsolo Jr., 32, faces arraignment Thursday on one felony count of sexual battery in a hospital and two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery. Free on $10,000 bail, he could be sentenced to three years in prison if convicted.
Amorsolo inappropriately touched three men undergoing treatment for sleep apnea during a five-month period ending in February, authorities alleged, adding that there may be more victims. Sgt. Dave Shaw said an investigation was begun in February and Amorsolo was arrested last week.
Amorsolo has been on administrative leave since Feb. 14.
Video surveillance is among the new security measures at the hospital.
