Civic pride in San Bernardino

Regarding “Distinguished by Foothills, French Fries,” on San Bernardino, Oct. 28: Besides the McDonald family (their house is a few streets down from me -- it has white pillars and is on a hillside), the Culligan (water) family mansion is nearby -- 10,000 square feet and on its own hill. The northern end of the city is nice. Plenty of Spanish stucco, Tudor, storybook and other interesting houses. Lots of big trees and some wild life (raccoons, skunks, foxes, opossums).
The city was also the birthplace of the Hells Angels.
I have lived here a few years and grown almost fond of the place. It’s heaven for those of us who like finding vintage and antique things at yard sales.
