With the presidential political season in full swing, ABC News’ back-to-back Republican and Democratic forums on Saturday drew the largest debate audiences of the campaign so far.
More than 9 million viewers tuned into the Democratic matchup, while 7.35 million watched the GOP debate. Until then, the most-watched debate of the 2008 race had been the CNN/YouTube forum on Nov. 28, which garnered nearly 4.3 million viewers.
On Sunday, Fox News’ Republican forum attracted just over 2.5 million viewers.
MSNBC hosts the next debate on Tuesday, featuring the Democratic contenders in Las Vegas.
