Edison International’s Southern California Edison utility won regulatory approval for a 500-megawatt rooftop solar project to help meet state renewable-energy requirements.
The utility will own and operate 250 megawatts of the photovoltaic panels, which will be installed over five years on commercial rooftops leased by the utility under a program approved by the California Public Utilities Commission at a meeting in San Francisco.
