A spokesperson for Vanity Fair confirmed that Lewis, the author of Moneyball and The Big Short, conducted “a series” of interviews with Obama as part of a piece “about leadership” to be published in the magazine’s October issue. Neither the magazine nor the White House would comment on what the two spoke about, but the mere existence of the conversations is in itself pretty notable, given Obama’s general reluctance to agree to long sit-downs with journalists.
