Jimmy Fallon finds a fresh way to interview with ‘Mirren, Mirren’

The traditional late night interview format has long been played out: a desk, a couch, some witty banter and an obligatory plug. Let’s give Jimmy Fallon some credit for trying a new way of getting information out of his guests, this time via magic mirror.
Having respected British actress Helen Mirren on “The Tonight Show” on Monday inspired Fallon and his team to set up the campiest interview situation imaginable. Hidden behind the magic mirror, Mirren responded to questions with rhymed couplets.
“Mirren, Mirren on the wall, what do you think of ’50 Shades of Grey?’” Fallon asked.
“Whips and chains are not my style, but who doesn’t love a jolly good spanking once in awhile?” Mirren responded.
And on it goes like that.
Granted, the format only really works for performers named Mirren, but in this one case, it worked wonderfully.
