Seven blocks from its sister salon, this welcome addition to the neighborhood has a warm, woodsy feel that suits its natural treatments, while staying saucy with tattoos and framed pin-ups. Owner Bean Longo has replaced the typical pedicure throne with a black, floral-printed banquette strewn with pillows, and use big white pails of hot water for the foot soak; these are garnished with cucumber and mint for the Honey Bee treatment, or milk and rose for the Queen Bee. The multi-step pedicures involve a homemade salt or sugar scrub, such as the fragrant coffee, bergamot and mint combo, as well as a massage and meticulous sloughing, shaping and polishall with a fresh pouch of cleaned and UV-baked instruments. For facials, which can last from forty to eighty minutes, the esthetician analyzes your skin and customizes the treatment using all-natural, largely organic products. A steam and enzyme exfoliation, mild extraction and hydrating mask impart a fresh feel to the skin, and the deeply educated and experienced staff provides solid skincare and makeup tips. Waxing, manicures and bridal makeup are also on the menu. Skincare products and cosmetics, including the UltraPure line, are for sale.
