If you have a hankering for a Romanesque image carved into, say, a hardened piece of lava, then look no further than Amedeo, a shop which traffics in the all-but-forgotten art of the cameo. As such, the store is home to a sweeping collection of flowing-haired women engraved on shell, coral, turquoise, and yes, even lava. Hardly bigger than the smallest studio apartment, this shop uses full-length mirrors to give the appearance of a more spacious room; reflected throughout, the several large glass cases stock miniatures of subjects culled from historic Italian paintings and sculptures.
