Profile
A sea of tubular stainless steel and frosted glass, the Brueton showroom attracts those looking for contemporary furniture with a capital C. Concave and serpentine shapes are common among the designs, which incorporate Art Deco embellishments. Low, long sofas with steel legs, chairs with dramatic angles, and geometric tables dominate the living-room sets. Dining tables are massive and bold; the Pinnacle table, for example, has a glass top and a conical stainless-steel base. Some of the more traditional pieces, with their clean lines and smooth surfaces, would satisfy any modernist. Others, however, with their bright colors and challenging forms, might strike some as gaudy.
