Nicole Noselli and Daphne Gutierrez founded Bruce
in the mid-1990s after graduating from Parsons and finding their
initial jobs in the fashion industry less than fulfilling. Since
then, the dynamic design duo has garnered a cult-like following
of downtown sophisticates who crave their distinctive and modern
style. While they have maintained notably low-profile lives,
the designers collected the CFDA's Perry Ellis Award for Womenswear
in 2001. Their remarkable ability to combine function with femininity
has become the signature look they now present to packed houses
each season. The designers know exactly what to give their young
urbanite audience: unusual skirts, pants and jackets paired
with softly gathered and draped tops, a supreme attention to
detail, and personal touches that evoke chic individuality.
