18. Because Saul Leiter Loved How New York Looks Through a Window Covered in Raindrops

For over 60 years, Leiter, who died in November at 89, took color photographs of his city—mostly those blocks near his home in the East Village, and mostly using 35-mm. Kodachrome that was past its sell-by date.
