Since I don’t leave the apartment anymore, my scented candle burn rate has increased exponentially, and it’s become one of the things I look forward to most. In fact, as I waited for my kettle of water to heat up on the stove for my coffee this morning, I lit my current favorite: the Sunset Candle in Moonrise from P.F. Candle Co. And as I sat down in front of my laptop, scrolling through the internet sales bin and sipping on my coffee, I was stoked to see my candle half off at Urban Outfitters today (just in time for a restock).
The main reason I bought this candle a few months ago was the stylish tin, which looks like it belongs in a Palm Springs bungalow. That our friends at the Cut called the Sunset Collection the next status candle when these Southern California–inspired scents launched back in August didn’t hurt, either. But I’ve come to appreciate the subtle scent, which makes my kitchen-slash-home office smell like warm citrus all day without giving me a fragrance-induced headache. It’s more woodsy than sweet, like most of P.F. Candle Co.’s scents, and the candle has also lasted an exceptionally long time. I’ve been burning it daily for the last seven days, for at least two hours at a time, and I’ve still got a third of the candle left (and I started self-isolation with at least a quarter of the candle already gone).
But at this rate, I will burn though my favorite candle someday soon, and given how much I love Moonrise, I’m now curious to try the entire 1970s-inspired collection, which includes a bergamot and eucalyptus Golden Hour and a black pepper and lavender Dusk. And fortunately for me (and anyone else who loves a scented candle for cheap), all four Sunset Collection scents are on sale at Urban Outfitters, part of a one-day-only, half off flash sale.
